For more than three decades, Silicon Carbide Products (SCP) has specialized in manufacturing high-performance silicon carbide ceramic components for demanding industrial applications. From a focused startup dedicated to nitride-bonded silicon carbide to a global company backed by CUMI, our mission has remained the same: deliver exceptional materials, dependable manufacturing, and long-term value for our customers.
Our Story
Focused From the Very Beginning
Silicon Carbide Products was founded in 1994 with a clear objective: become the industry's trusted source for high-quality silicon carbide ceramic components.
Rather than trying to be everything to everyone, SCP focused on mastering a specialized material system and developing manufacturing capabilities that allowed customers to produce complex geometries with consistent quality and repeatable performance.
As customer needs evolved, so did SCP. New SCProbond™ material grades, expanded manufacturing capabilities, and continued investment in people and equipment have allowed the company to support increasingly demanding industrial applications while maintaining the responsive, technically focused approach that defined the company from day one.
Today, that same philosophy continues to guide every investment, product development effort, and customer partnership.

In 2025, Silicon Carbide Products became part of Carborundum Universal Limited (CUMI), a global leader in advanced materials and engineered ceramics.
The acquisition strengthens SCP's ability to support customers through expanded manufacturing resources, broader material expertise, and long-term investment while preserving the specialized knowledge and customer focus that have defined the company since 1994.
