Sintered

SCProbond™ SSIC

SCProbond™ SSIC is SCP's sintered silicon carbide for extremely demanding applications requiring high corrosion resistance, high-temperature performance, thermal shock resistance, and exceptional wear resistance.

Overview

Built for Extreme Chemical and Thermal Environments

SCProbond™ SSIC is produced from extremely fine, sub-micron silicon carbide powder and non-oxide sintering additives. The resulting material combines exceptional chemical resistance with the thermal, mechanical, and wear performance expected from high-performance silicon carbide.

SSiC is particularly suited to components exposed to acidic or basic media, extreme temperatures, abrasive service, or combinations of these conditions.

For applications where corrosion resistance, temperature capability, and material durability are critical, sintered silicon carbide provides an alternative to metals and conventional refractory materials.

Performance

Why Choose SCProbond™ SSIC?

Extreme Corrosion Resistance

Sintered silicon carbide provides extremely high resistance to corrosion in acidic and basic media, making it a strong candidate for chemical and process environments where conventional materials can degrade.

High-Temperature Performance

SCProbond™ SSIC maintains its properties at extremely high temperatures, with a listed maximum service temperature of 2,912°F (1,600°C) depending on application conditions.

Thermal Shock Resistance

High thermal shock resistance allows SSiC components to withstand demanding temperature changes without sacrificing the performance expected from a high-temperature ceramic.

Wear Resistance

The exceptional hardness of silicon carbide provides high resistance to wear in demanding industrial environments where component surfaces are exposed to abrasive or erosive conditions.

Pricing Notes

Pricing Is Quoted Per Project

SCProbond™ SSIC pricing depends on part geometry, wall thickness, tolerance requirements, order volume, and whether tooling already exists. Manufacturability, aspect ratio, and overall part dimensions all factor into final cost.

Repeat orders on existing tooling are typically the most cost-effective path since tooling costs are already amortized. Send us your drawing for an accurate, project-specific quote.

Considering a Change to Sintered Silicon Carbide?
